STRENGTHS:
- Incredibly smarter than a kid should be. She built and pilots her very own spaceship and seems to have zero problems with maintaining it on her own. She is also familiar with the concept of time and time traveling and the complicated mess that can weave. Though her knowledge does still lack in other departments. See Flaws.
- Agile and energetic. Though she has to rely on hats for most abilities, physically she's not bad either. Definitely can't lift much but she has platforming skills that might even put Mario to shame, and the fast thinking to get out of tough situations. Easy to get out of traps and surprisingly hard to hit.
- Generally fearless. This is a kid that's had multiple things try to kill her and has lived to tell about it. She can definitely be afraid, but she tries not to let that emotion control her.
I'm also adding in her stubbornness as a fourth bonus strength (since of these could also be a negative, depending on how you look at it) just because it's probably worth mentioning.
FLAWS:
- Gullible, with a side note of naivety. Gets taken advantage of or tricked fairly regularly (the entirety of the Battle of the Birds chapter is basically this). She is a force to be reckoned with once she has been double crossed, however it doesn't stop these things from still happening.
- Easily distracted/looses focus. She's still very much a kid so brand new things are exciting and interesting. There's also the usual distractions like cute animals, food, toys, fame, shiny things. It's not quite enough to deter her off of her goals completely, but a 1-5 minute distraction can add up quickly.
- Selfish. Perhaps a result from living alone in space for so long (and hopping between worlds), other people's affairs aren't really her business. Unless it benefits her in some way, she tends to stay uninvolved.

AU INFORMATION
AU CHARACTER NAME: Puella Tempus
AGE: 10
GRADE: Reasonably should be in the 4th or 5th grade. But since she already knows a fair bit she has been pushed up to 7th/middle school level
AU BACKSTORY:
Puella's family had known about the supernatural world for quite some time now, and dabbled in runic inscriptions despite having no inherit magic of their own. Having grown up around it, it was only natural that Puella wanted to play with it too - with or without parents' approval. Though not a powerful rune, the first thing she ever successfully infused Mist into was an old top hat that had been around for generations. Though all the hat could do was detect the location of more Mist and paranormal activity, it was still an impressionable feat by someone so young that they likely had a prodigy on their hands.
Not long after Puella started to show faint, radiant signs of something more; a small budding Flame that may explain where her intelligence or affinity with magic came from. Since it manifested so early (about 2-4 years than normal), it is still too weak to use directly. Despite this she was still taken in by Daybreak Academy to help the Flame grow. It's still a mystery what may happen once it fully develops, but with Night drawing closer any new potential Candles is better than none.
In the mean time, Puella's main interests are just kid stuff and learning how to make more enchanted things, namely mundane objects since they are the easiest. In her belongings someone would also find drawings of space, and what was probably supposed to be a ship but it looked literally designed by a ten year old. Little does anyone know that these spaceship designs were actually super classified, blueprint that she was planning to work on more during her stay at the academy. There's even a "In case of emergency" written on the blueprints in crayon, making them a hypothetical back up plan to leave Earth entirely in case humanity was inevitably doomed.
AU PERSONALITY DEVIATION: She is not that much different from canon. But this is definitely an early, pre-game version of Hat Kid and so is not quite as experienced. She is more likely to make dumb mistakes but learn fairly quickly from them. Also not being an alien and crafted a spaceship (yet) means her knowledge of how space actually works is...limited. But it is a side interest of hers.
Puella is generally more curious with how things work, especially on the magical side. She will go out of her way to find as many magical items as she can either to dismantle and figure out new enchantments that way, or to keep in her arsenal somewhere.
Also at her current age Puella has much to learn about the magical/supernatural world, and fully understand just how deadly it can actually be. She's pretty reckless when it comes to interacting with it.
RACE: Human
SECRET SOCIETY: Was brought to the academy due to her capabilities as a Candle. However her parents are likely familiar with a number of secret societies and even worked alongside some of them in warding off Outlandish threats. Especially with the Rune Guard. But not really affiliated with any parties and this information would have been mostly privied away from Puella anyway. Because why tell a (seemingly) normal child about such things?
POWERS: Puella can't really use her Flame yet, the most she can produce at the moment is a small flicker. Though it is suspected that once it does develop she may become a powerful Candle. Being the first in a family of non-Candles makes whatever innate power she has a mystery. ((Though for a clear cut answer for app purposes, it will likely be time magic. Slow/Haste/Stop spells, Final Fantasy-like. If it does fully manifest sometime mid-game))
For now she makes up for this setback by finding ways to use Outland Mist to her advantage. Her only creation is still the top hat but eventually planning on having it expanded to a whole series of other hats, namely her canonical ones. This also means going out there and collecting more Mist is important (which is kept stored in large, hourglass containers). Or getting a good source of it somewhere if teachers aren't going to let her outside.

1. WHAT DO YOU MOST DESIRE FOR YOUR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE?
Am I gonna learn how to shoot lasers out of my hands? Because that would be really, really cool.
[To demonstrate just how awesome it would be, she brought her arms outward and made a 'pewing' noise. Now just imagine doing that with actual lasers.]

No homework is a good start. It just takes so much time away from other things. Like... I don't know, what other things are there to do?

Updated Power Ups!
Time Stop (Stars) - Quasi-similar to canon except for the fact that no hat is required anymore, and can last for as long as she can will it. The purpose of the stars vary depending on what sort of time freeze she is doing, be it surrounding specific objects or people to only freeze them, or scattered around to freeze everything. tl;dr: touching them is not recommended.
Since it is her Candle ability, it is actually made out of a very dense (harden??) Radiance. If she looses focus for any reason they can loose their shape and revert back to actual Radiance again.
Kestrel Polymorph - Learned a spell to turn into a kestrel whenever. No other abilities can work while doing so (as far as she knows), telepathy enabled.
Shooting Stars - After getting marked, she can now directly fire stars as a blast/beam attack. It works better if she has a weapon to point it with but not necessary. Seems to be a direct upgrade from the Candle ability she already have.
Many More Hats - Every new hat gets some kind of enchantment placed on it. I'll get to listing those when I finish inventory.
